Has anyone created a light trial effect to have swirl around your text, video, or images? A light trial similar to when you quickly move a match, sparkler, or light around in the dark. (The cable series, Overhaulin' uses an example of it during their credits). The objective is to have multiple colored light trails appear, swirl around the image or text, and then fly off screen or dissipate.

Check Digital Juice's Jump Backs. They are looping backgrounds. The SD versions are seriously on sale. Also take a look at their Swipes, which are transition-style effects.

thanks. Has anyone used any of the Editor's Theme Kits or animated backgrounds in VSPROX2? If so, how did you like it and how was the result?

I use DJ products all the time. I just got my first Editor's Theme Kit in the mail today, so haven't tried it yet. But they're basically the same as the Editor's Toolkits, which I like very much.

Do you use the Digital Juice products? I have the Compositor's Toolkit. They have some video of various things one video is a waving flag. That video comes with a corresponding matte video and was wondering if you have used this.

I'll chime in on DJ's products. While I have yet to use the ToolKit or ThemeKits, I do use the JumpBacks. I really like them. Their Juicer software makes it easy to do some customization to them. I've also looked at those Composites, and they do look nice.

With Mattes, (with alpha channels) the only problem I foresee is if they are moving. VS would need Moving paths that you could control with keyframes. Otherwise at some point your matte is going to be off-target. If they are static, then they should work fine.

The mattes are moving and match the corresponding video.

If I use just the fabric.mov there is black where the fabric isn't. The chroma key option tends to bleed through but I might just need to tweek it a little more.

I do not have the Compositor's Toolkit.
