Here is a link to Direct X March 2009 Update, it's not on the Microsoft Site, no need for validation.

Thanks tyamada. I can't figure out how to allow my super powers to make this into an announcement to put at the top of the forum. I guess Ron, Ken or Steve will have to step in and do that.

Hi
Thanks for the info,
I am having a few problems at the moment so the new March 2009 Direct X may be worth a go.
By the way its shows on Microsoft site as March 2009

The link to Microsoft's DirectX update, which we have had posted previously for the Nov 2008 update will work for any future updates. MS just updates the download link on that page. This is in case some don't trust third-party download sites...

Below is the same link info I've been using/posting for over a year now. I just change the date of the update......

Go HERE and download the latest MS Direct-X drivers. The most current is dated March 2009

Hyperlink is..http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

The link to the November 2008 I had was http://tinyurl.com/6jj2lw but this still takes me to the November update. Does anyone have a tinyurl for the March 2009 one yet since the Microsoft link itself is a bit of a mouthful!!

I am also intrigued to note that the Microsoft website version shows a maximum file size of 78.7 MB while the Filehippo one is shown as 92.43MB...

Ken,
I think they are different. The link that I provided is for the Web Installer Update, where as the Nov update is an End User Run Time, and probably the one that people should be using to correct problems.

I found the correct one, http://tiny.cc/qb58I

The above link to MS website also shows it to be 92.4 MB..

It doesn't matter where they go. You can create a temporary folder. The point is just to have them somewhere you know. Then wherever they are, you just run the dxsetup.exe file among them to install it. Then when it is installed, you can delete the temporary folder.
