Maybe this is simply some quirky thing w/my computer ..???

How odd is this?

But burned a DVD this morning ... all came out super! but: no audio???

I took the disk to my office, and poof! .. there's audio!

Hmm, ... did a check on my home system's audio .. it's working okay .. but the DVD I just burned doesn't give audio on it [there] ... but in my office (though my office is Windows Vista) it plays okay ...

At home, I have Windows XP Home.

Gee, any thoughts anyone? Mayb'e it's something I ate last night ...

I can try again anyhow ... I should mention, I did this particular burn on a DVD+RW disk (I've only used DVD+R up to now, and have not had this problem)

Do you think it has anything to do with a DVD+RW disk?

Unlikely to have anything at all to do with an RW disc. I -- and I am sure many others -- have consistently used RW discs with successive versions of VS, and Windows ME, XP and Vista, with no problems at all, let alone the audio.

Have you clicked on the little speaker icon in the System Tray to open the Mixer to ensure that the relevant slider is not muted?

What audio format did you use? (Dolby AC3, LPCM, or MPEG-2)?

This might seem like a dumb question, but do you have DVD player software on your computer? Can you play commercial DVDs? (I believe that Windows Media Player cannot play Dolby audio wthout an additional codec.)

I've been testing stuff here; I see that no DVD (RW or otherwise) plays on my home computer after a VS burn, though it happily plays in every other DVD drive; And yes, I can see/hear all other DVDs in my computer if I run t.

So I'll continue studying the previous post that was logged on ... worse comes to worse .. I can probably live with no audio playback on my computer .... but I'll pursue some resolution.

Otherwise, everything looks good with VS ... quite a great program.
