AVI Files Bonus Disk wont play/import

I can not play the sample video files from the Ulead 11+ bonus disk. The error message states that the file is not accessible.When I click ok to get rid of the error message the next prompt says: these files can not be added to the project These files may be of an unknown format.
But they are on the original bonus disk,

Running Vista home edition 3gb ram 2.4 dual core processor.

Media player 11 will not play the files either but quick-time will.

Are you trying to play them from the disc? What happens if you import them first, then try to play them?

For some strange reason when Corel release new versions they seem to carry over the same sample video files. Unfortunately some of the video files are not compatible with Vista and were carried over from the days when XP was the latest operating system of the day.

Tried importing the files and copying from the disk.No Success
