Video Capture using DVD-VR plugin

Post by paulschofield »

I was wondering if anyone has managed to get the DVD-VR plugin working using the Video capture application that comes with Media Studio Pro7?

Everytime I try and use it the application just vanishes when I've chosen the location of the VIDEO_TS folder on my DVD.

I have tried DVD's created with my Philips DVD recorder and also those created using Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 and each time I select the VIDEO_TS folder as the source the Application just disapppears, it doesn't crash, cause an exception or Windows XP diagnostics dialog.... it just disappears.

I'm using XP SP2 and MediaStudio SP2

Paul,

Looks like I have the same problem. This function used to work for me. The only difference that I can see is the patch upgrade to MS7 since I last used this function.

I am also using XP SP2.

DVD-VR, good news!

Paul,

Good news! I decided to be brave (or foolhearty) and loaded the new MSP7.0 SP2 patch and now the DVD-VR capture works fine.

Hope it works for you too!

DVD-RAM input plugin

Post by c4791p »

Maybe I am just really, really having a senior momemt. But my wife just bought a Hitachi V580A so she could take DVD-R video of investment properties here in LV and send them off to clients without having to work with them on her computer first.

That works great for her.

However, the camera records more per disc and takes actually sharper pictures when you record to DVD-RAM discs. I have updated my MSPro7 to SP2, but for the life of me cannot figure out how to get the plug-in to work. I think I'm proceeding correctly, but still I get a directory showing of the DVD-RAM disc, but when I click on the file it still doesn't appear to be recognized.

The file type just appears to be missing from the list of video files the software will recognize.

Would appreciate any thoughts, and perhaps I am just not taking the right path to input / capture the video. So you can be really simplistic in your guidance and I won't be insulted.

Thanks.
