Overlay Mask Frame gets cut off.....

When I apply a Mask Frame to a video clip I can see the entire Mask Frame when vewing it in the window within VSX2. However, when the project is rendered and burned onto a DVD the Mask Frame is cropped on the sides. I cannot see all of the Mask Frame on the TV. Any suggestions? Does this have anything to do with the TV safe area%?
Thanks,
greg

Probably.... TVs are normally adjusted for overscan. This means you don't see the whole picture. This is done intentionally so that the whole screen is always filled-up, and you don't see any fuzzy edges.

TVs vary a bit (especially CRT TVs), so some TVs will show more of the picture than others. But, everything inside the safe area will show-up on all properly adjusted TVs.

thanks......will making the safe area a different % correct this? I'm not clear on how the safe area % impacts the image. If the safe area is changed from 10% to 25% does that shrink the entire video clip due to having less area or does it leave the clip size alone and just crop off more of the image?
Thanks again.

Neither. It's just a guide. The Title Safe box just represents the area that may be cut off by your TV. Not every TV is the same, thus adjustments to the Title Safe box can be made within VS to try to match how much your TV cuts off.
