I have recently started to get “glitches” on some of my burnt DVDs. .Last time I copied 4 DVDs via VS11+ from projects I made from my camcorder. One of the copies missed a word now and again or a small section of video.I am using the same DVDs and the burning the way I have always done (via a TS Folder)
XP Home . Firewire transfer . VBR 8000. One hour on DVD or less. 4X speed of burn.
Burnt with VS 11+.
Can any one help please. …………………….Ken

My first thoughts are:

Does this glitch happen at the same spot in every player?

You say you are using the same DVDs. Are they from the same batch? And even if so it doesn't mean that one couldn't have been damaged or dirty.

Does your DVD writer have the latest firmware installed?

You state a VBR of 8000. Is that just video? If so you must remember that the audio data rate must be added to it. Some DVD players can choke on a data rate over 8000. I always burn mine at a video data rate of 7000, so then I know the total will be under 8000.

Thanks for the quuick reply Jeff.
The glitches are not always in the same place
It was the same batch of discs, could not see any damage but I must admit I did not dust them , they looked ok.
Had not thought about drive firmware
Will use 7000 VBR in future.
I used surround sound audio .......Ken
