Is there a way to make changes to an existing template, save it with a new name, and leave the original template unchanged? I'm using X2.

The easiest way to do this would be if you have a video clip that uses the properties you want the template to be. If so use the Add button, then locate the video file that has those properties.

If not then you need to use the New button, and select the file format (MPEG, AVI, WMV), and build it from there, providing a name for your template. If you choose Edit it will alter the existing template.

Just to add here, to build the template, you should have copied down separately the exact properties you want your new template to have, then add those after your click Edit as suggested above. In other words, as far as I am aware, apart from Ron's suggested Add option above, there is no automatic way to do what you want.

I looked all over thinking that there must be a "save as" option somewhere, but that I simply couldn't find it. Since I did have a video with the desired changes, I was able to use Ron's suggestion.
Thanks for the help.
