I'm using VS Pro 2. With 'auto music' open and the 'scope box' reading "Owned" I can't upload my selected music clip to the timeline. That option is greyed out. Does this mean I can't use the auto music option withput a further purchase?

Is this perhaps a TBYB (trial) version?....if not continue on....
What that seems is that you did not install the SmartSound Quicktracks or something failed while installing. Is the SmartSound icon grayed out too? If not click on it and go to the
Libraries tab. You should see the following:

You may not have some that are depicted in this screenshot.
Go to the
About tab and click on the
Rebuild Smartsound Database button.

.
You can also click on the
Folders tab to show where the Smartsound Library files are located on your system.
IF there are no SmartSound Libraries showing, then they must not be installed correctly. You might have to do a repair install.

Hi
If you can play the selected music then Smart Sound is installed.
Make sure the ¡¥Music¡¦ timeline is clear, you cannot insert ¡¥Auto Music¡¦ on top of another sound clip.
You cannot insert Auto Music to an empty project, insert any other clip first.
The auto music will be placed to the curser position.

Trevor, yes you can add auto music to an empty timeline,
Provided you uncheck the
Auto Trim box....

Thanks for all the responses. I have a fully licenced copy and had already gone through the procedure suggested by videoman in the first reply so was sure the sound files were on my HD.
Trevor hit the spot for which, thank you. Then videoman's little extra snippet will be very useful in the future.
This program and this Forum just gets better and better for me. I hope very much to be in a position fairly soon when i can start repaying and possibly help other newbies!
Thanks again
