He guys... I need some help. I'm putting together a video clip and I have one scene where the video image must look like the video transmission has been lost from the screen. The scene goes like this the subject says to the camera " please turn off the camera ".... and what I want to show is a black screen with static lines....I can then add sound to cause the static. The effect is like the image going dead in the twilight TV series. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks

What version are you using? With VS ProX2, there is a Video Filter called Film Damage, which is part of the New Blue Video Filters. Apply the Film Damage video filter to a black color clip. Just using the default gives the "snow" effect seen when loosing a TV signal.
Next in the Transition effects library locate the Power-Off found in the FX Library. I would use the Power-Off transition between your video clip and the black color clip...

VS also comes with a stock video clip of static (clip V19). I've used this in the past with great success. You can put it on an overlay track and play with the transparency for varied effects.

Yep it does, however in mine it's not very smooth.... (at least that's the excuse I'm using for not remembering that clip....Black Lab wrote:VS also comes with a stock video clip of static (clip V19). I've used this in the past with great success.
