videostudio and particleillusion

Post by lakewud »

Hello all,

Amazing program this particleillusion. Been tinkering around with it for a few days..always conscious of the 30 day trial...a purchase is in order for sure.

Question - which i hope to get a responce to.

Saving and then placing into VS ( 10+ in myh case ). Well after much ado...i save my little creation complete with explosions and the like...via AVI..then in AVI OPTIONS..i have to? save as FULL FRAMES UNCOMPRESSED. This allows me to use the Alpha ( transparency ) which i then bring into VS.

Now, it seems to work, and having burned to disk..the quality seems...ok....however a few times now the effect..say..a background shiny effect is replaced by bubbles for example? Why is this?

Having looked on tutorials etc..one did say dont say as Uncompressed..however tried other methods and VS wont recoginse...one tutorial did say...download a ...Huffyuv program and use that instead if FULL FRAMES.

Now, tried that..but unsure of how to get Huffyuv into my list of choices ie, next to the dropdown box where sits jpeg, png and the like - again any thoughts? And would this Huffy be a solution to quality etc for VS?

Any answers..please
Trevor Andrew

Hi

Not used the program, but it sounds as though you are enjoying it.

Jpeg and Png are still image formats, where as Huffyuv is a Video Compressor for Avi.

If you have installed the Huffyuv on your pc you will see it in the compression tab when you are rendering a project to AVI, usually from the custom option.
You will also see it when creating templates to Avi from Make Movie Manager.

Sorry I cannot help with the actual program

OK I did a search.

Not realy a VS subject but from a tutorial(How to Use particleIllusion SE )) quote:-

Hit the spacebar to play your project (usually in near real-time), and saving this output as a movie or image sequence is just a matter of hitting the "save output" button and selecting an output format.¡XUnquote:-

Here you should select Avi to render to a video, selecting the Huffyuv compressor.

You're probably using the standard def emitters. They have hi def ones as well:

This is just a short utube tutorial:

Thanks for the replies and yes am having fun with this program.

Neon - I dont sadly have an Hi-Def equipment ie, camcorder..though along with this program is on my wishlist.

I followed the link and have looked on youtube tutorials..very helpful although not yet able to figure out how to record to the best format i can to incorporate back into Videostudio.

Without wanting to eat into your time, a quick step by step guide on how i can do this? Or should i just be grateful i can get some of these impressive effects using Alpha into VS in the first place.

Sorry I can't help you with this. I use Sony Vegas Pro and not video studio. I simply drop in here from time to time because I have dvd movie factory. So I don't have a CLUE how to get PI files into VS
