Low Sound with uLead ? With ripped dvd ?

Hi All, I ripped a dvd disc in full quality onto my pc. I opened the footage in uLead 10 and cut/edited the small part I wanted from the footage and then rendered it and saved it. When I opened the clip and played it the sound was very low volume ? I went back to the original ripped footage and the original sound is very low ? How can I make it a normal level ? Do I seperate the audio from the footage and then what, I just want it at a normal level ? Many thanks

No need to separate the audio from the video. Simply increase the volume of the imported clip to a suitable level. You can either do that before or after you edit it. Then render away.

Hi I went to the video Tab/Attribute part and clicked the current volume arrow/blue box and knocked it up with the slider to 500, its louder but not that much ? why would a ripped video be a lot quiter in the first place Many thanks
p.s can I render an already rendered video clip ? I open the clip that was rendered, changed the volume up to 500 then clicked share and rendered it as a 16.9 dvd ?

Obviously, VS is a fine video editor but is lacking in the audio editing department. With that said, there are a couple of other things you can do.
One, you can split the audio and that will allow you to apply the Amplify filter. That should help.
Another thing is to use a third party audio editor. I use the free Audacity. With your project in the timeline go to Share>Create Sound File. This will create a WAV file of your audio. Import that file into your audio editor and bump up the sound. Save it, then re-import that back into VS.
