Video Fiters

Can video filters be placed on a portion of a video clip using Video Studio Pro2X? I keep trying to control the length of the filter, but with no avail.
No. A filter goes on an entire clip. Some filters let you set a "zero" value, so by adding keyframes you can, in effect, turn the filter on and off as you need. But for some reason, VS does not allow zero values for most of the filters (I wish they would change this).
Your alternative is to cut the clip and apply the filter to only where you need it.
