Error: Upon startup of Ulead VS11+ - Can't find a 'dll'

Hello again,

I recently bought 'Diamond Multimedia One-Touch Video Capture'. I plugged it into my VCR and connected it to my computer and installed the software. This package also came with 'Ulead VideoStudio 10 SE' to edit what was captured. Not thinking about any consequence, I loaded '10SE' while '11+' was also on the same hard drive.

In 1992 we were in England and had a wonderful vacation. I taped the trip on VHS. Now I want to convert it into DVD and use Ulead to create special effects, etc. The transfer worked great but now when I try and start Video Studio 11+ I receive the following error message:

The ordinal 17 could not be located in the dynamic link library mpgvout.dll

Probably having Ulead VideoStudio 10SE and 11+ on the same drive caused the problem. I unloaded 10SE and that didn't help. I deleted and reloaded UVS11+ and still get the same error message. Has anyone else experienced this problem and do you have a solution. Funny, since buying VideoStudio 11+ I've had a few time where something messed up the starting of the program. Since I received Ulead 'VideoStudio 10SE' I've loaded it and unloaded it twice and it has worked both times.

Some might say, why not use 10SE instead. I guess I just don't like using older software when I own a newer version.

Any help or comments will certainly be appreciated.

Phillip

Please explain what this email message means that I just received:

The topic or post you requested does not exist.

The problem I'm encountering with loading Ulead Visual Studio 11+ is not a topic discussed on the forum? What do you mean when you say, the requested topic or post does not exist? If I'm experiencing it, doesn't that prove that it does exist?

Are you saying it's something you do not discuss on the forum and therefore it does not exist?

Please respond.

Doing a Search for "ordinal and 17" brought back several hits, including this one: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... ht=ordinal

Normally this occurs if someone has replied to a post but that reply has been deleted. This can occur if the Web Board has been playing up and a post got entered twice. A moderator would delete the duplicate post leaving just the one copy. However you will have already received an automatically generated message from the forum software letting you know a response had been made to your post!

Nothing to worry about - this happens from time to time.

Well, where there is a will there is a way. After a few days of erasing files and many defrags, I finally got UVS 11+ to work again.

Last year when I encountered a problem with opening UVS 11+, after many tries I finally formatted my hard drive and reloaded everything. This seemed like too much for me to go through again. So, instead of formatting, etc., I cleaned up every aspect of program files, registry, and eventually it works. It took a few days of very intensive deleting and defraging, etc. Very time consuming but always better than reformatting the hard drive and reloading everything.

After buying 'One touch Video Capture' and loading the UVS 10SE that came with it, the same problem happened again. I am going to warn Amazon users, if you have a version of UVS on your system already, do not load another along side. My experience is that UVS 11+ will become dysfunctional. The funny thing is I can load and unload UVS 10SE many times with no problems. This is probably because this software is not as technical as 11+, at least not the version I received with the Video Capture program.
