Can't get at the MF 3 patch

I recently received Movie Factory 3 bundled with a Sony DVD cutter.

It needs the patch. Ulead's dowload site has the link to the patch, but it always returns "document contains no data", and it will not download the patch.

Which file are you trying to download and at what stage do you get the "document contains no data" message?

I am on page:

It has several downloads available:

First is Part I and II of a "3.0 DL support pack"

and further down it has 10 different language downloads of about 13 mb for '3.0 update pack build 300P01"

It is the English version of the '3.0 update pack build 300P01" that I believe that I need.... [aside:....or does that "DL support pack" cover the same patches... what IS the DL support pack, anyway???]

The mouse-over on the english download shows a URL of
ftp://ftp.ulead.com/pub/Updates/DVDMovi ... atch_e.exe

The time-out occurs after a click on the link and before any other information comes back. After about 20 seconds of silence, MS-IE produces their "this page cannot be displayed" page. Netscape produces a pop-up dialog with "Alert" in the title bar and "The document contains no data" in the box.

Not that it helps much, but I was able to download the 13.4 Mb file.

Try right clicking the link and "Save Link to Disk"

Well, it seems to have been the fact that I was sending a real email address as the anonymous ftp password. I tried again and it would not download until after I unchecked that box in my browser preferences. However, I downloaded other stuff from the ulead site yesterday with no problem with that same checkbox "on", so I am not sure why the problem just for this one download.

Anyway, I got the patch. Next question: will it solve the problem?
