Got to retype reply as I tried sending this while my pc was logout.
Hope it's not a repost.
Is everything on a single large partition, though, or do you perhaps have separate programs + operating system and data partitions?
Apology: After defrag my C Drive:
Total capacity = 69.6GB
Used space = 23.6 GB
Free space = 46 GB.
How exactly do you add the North American stuff? Is it in the form of video files or as a separate Video Studio project file?
I add the North American stuff by adding video files, music files, wordings, overlays (pic + edited video) onto timeframes of Sin-Taipei's.
i.e. continue to extend the timeframe.
Although you write "Ulead 10.0 doc" a Video Studio project file has the .vsp file type extension. Are you using "doc" just as a general abbreviation for any computer file or "document"? I don't wish to appear too pedantic, but it can help to be really specific when troubleshooting a problem!
I meant Ulead VideoStudio 10.0 Document (verbatim from Window explorer's file type).
So are you removing the North American video and audio files from your timeline - or removing a North American .vsp file from the burning module?
Yes- removing video / music files/ overlays/ wordings from the timeline.

So whatever it is that you have done, something has changed. Perhaps you've managed to upset the Gods...
I believe so..and I want to appease

but knowledge is bliss (which apparently I don't have).
Well, when all else fails, I resort to the "make sure you have installed the latest DirectX update" suggestion. You'll find a link to the update in a sticky at the top of the forum, and it will be worth trying.
a) I just did download DirectX update.
i) I chose it to park at Program file.
ii) But it did not open a sub-folder in Program file.
iii) It jus park as cabinet files - 113 files and 86.9MB.
iv) It just take few min to download.
b) I then reboot my pc.
c) But to my chagrin, it still did work...same fate while burning DVD..."unspecified error.
d) Here's my thot. Since this is known as an update...can it be inorder for any update to work, the DirectX must exist in my Window in the first place?
i) What if I had previously accidentally / unknowningly remove it?
- will this update still works if that is case?
ii) Where can I locate my original Direct X in my prog folder?
Also, go to the Corel site and look for any updates to VS10 - I believe there might have been one or two, perhaps addressing unrelated issues but certainly worth installing if you haven't done so already.
Did download:
a) V10 SP1 11.7Mb
b) V10 Canon HV10 Support Pack 4Mb
c) V10 HD DVDBurning Pack 4Mb.
If you bought Video Studio in a boxed version that comes with an install CD, you can always do a "
repair install" rather than removing the program and starting from scratch.
I did perform repair as well as built from scratch..as I wasn't sure if repair is sufficient.
kimmun wrote:it proves that VS10 can create a video file from your project. It's possible there is something in the DVD menu that is causing a problem. The DirectX update is known to be able to resolve preview problems in the burning module.
But in this case it didn't help me...provided the DirectX is working correctly.
Also, Windows updates can upset your system, necessitating the DirectX update. It's possible that you created your original Sin-Taipei project prior to one of those problematic Windows updates, and that's why it worked.
It could be...but I not sure...as I wouldn't know which / when as the problematic Windows updates.

Can you pls kindly advise what software can I use to convert video file into DVD-RW format¡Kso that we can watch it from TV?
Unfortunately the obvious program is called Video Studio! There might be other ways of dealing with it. Some video cards have an analogue output which you can hook up to an analogue TV. Newer ones will have an HDMI connector to hook up to a digital TV. You might have a suitable desktop pc in your household that you could connect to the TV, if your laptop doesn't have an analogue out function, and just play the video file you created from the project. You might have a PS3 in the household which could play a file from a hard drive formatted with the FAT32 file system.
You might be able to write the video file back to a blank tape in your camcorder. If you were starting out with footage from a miniDV camcorder, you could render your project to DV avi straight back to the camcorder, if the camcorder has that ability. In PAL zones, sometimes the capability is disabled due to the higher duty charged on camcorders with that feature!
Woww...you guys are pro....
I hope you stay with it! I am anxious to know the cause of your troubles!
Greatly appreciate, as I have sung praises of Ulead to my colleagues and church mates. I like Ulead's "platform-console based" approach which is idiot-proof for non-IT savvy ppl like me.
I just want to get over this hurdle of DVD direct burning, instead of having to go through another software....timeconsuming !
Also, look in the Windows Event Viewer "Application" log, and look for red circles containing a diagonal white cross. If you find any, right-click on them and select "properties" to see if there is anything mentioning specific Video Studio Modules.
Can kindly direct me to that Window's Event Viewer?
BTW I have another problem ( which I did read up from Ulead's other post): Once I burn a say 39min video file into a 2hr 4.7Gb DVD, I can't add any more video file into this DVD.
I read that they say I must try to tell the DVD not to close.
I don't seem to see this function while burning. Any advise?
Last night I manage to burn using Imgburn (Sin-Ketchikan, and Juneau-Icy Point) into 2 seperate DVDs....quite waste of DVD inview there are still plenty of space left in the DVD.
Looking forward to your kind guidance on this sir.
