a couple of questions about AVCHD files
Unlike the capture video from dv option where I can select a destination folder I don't see this option when importing avchd files from my canon hf100...where do these files import to? If I link a series of these imported files together and save them as one file will this be lossless? which resolution of avchd should I save as? To under stand the workflow can I simply copy the flash card on to my pc and then use the import function at a later date when I actually want to edit? Thanks!!!
Re: a couple of questions about AVCHD files
You can use Windows Explorer to copy the files from the flash card to a hard drive in a folder of your choice. Then in VS you "open" the files. In the Edit screen, choose "Video" in the drop-down menu to the right of the preview screen. Then click the folder icon next to it and navigate you where you put the files on the hard drive, and select your file(s).
I am not familiar with DV since my first camcorder was AVCHD, but I think the concept of "import" doesn't apply to AVCHD since they are already files that were created by the camcorder.
