Trying to burn a DVD from MPEG2 that were originally AVCHD

Hello

I have Corel VideoStudio Pro X2. Trying to burn a DVD from MPEG2 16:9 home movies in NTSC (that originally were in AVCHD, I converted them with another programme) I encounter the same "unspecified error 5:0:0" after 50% of the total process, right by the end (99%) of converting the video files (and backgorund menu). I'm going nuts already because I spent so much time creating all this stuff (by the way, is there any way to save the menu structure, it's too much for me to re-do all over again every time this programme doesn't work). I tried with different sound formats, with/without convertion of compliant MPEG files, with no fields, lower fields, upper fields, with/without menu..Also at one time the programme complained about too many chapters (122), though there were only 22, I deleted all of them and the total became 156..., i redid the whole movie, the error didn't come back. I wasn't able to save a movie image either. Also, i think it's important, I am not able to preview any part of the movie (movie itself or menu with chapters) in Editor and i can see chapters of it only if I want to edit them, otherwise on screen it shows up as only one folder with first image of the first video-chapter.

Can you please help me with those issues. I really want to make a DVD for my mom who lives in another country and I haven't seen her in years (she hasn't seen my wife and son either).

I hope I gave you enough of information.

Thank you!
Denis

Firstly the bit about saving the Menu Structure:
You have to ignore the message that says it is saving your project when you exit the DVD Authoring stage. You need to do a manual save - next time you return to that project your Menu Structure will be intact.

The number of chapters seems to be a glitch - I don't recall anyone else reporting that problem before and so it might be connected to the main issue which is the project freezing up.

You mention converting the AVCHD with another program to MPEG2 - you didn't give any clues about which program - but - MPEG2 is not always DVD compliant. Perhaps you can let us know the properties of the MPEG2 file
frame rate, screen size, bit rate.

If it is a compliant MPEG2 format then perhaps you may need to select "Do not convert compliant MPEG2 files" by clicking the cogwheel icon at the bottom left of the screen.

Should the MPG2 file not be DVD compliant try making it so by placing the video into the VideoStudio Editor and going to the [Share] Tab and then select [Create Video].

The (old) Ulead Knowledge Base contains a reference to your error message:
Error 5.0.0 appears while burning a DVD

Details
When you try to burn a DVD, the error ¡§unspecified error 5.0.0¡¨ appears.

Answer: If Error 5.0.0 appears, it means that one or more of the files in the project is damaged. This could be a video, music or overlay file.

Try saving the project as an MPEG file. If the same error message appears when you save the project, close the program and create a copy of your project file.

Remove files from the project and try re-saving until you have identified the damaged file. Open the original project file and delete the damaged file.
