MF4 Recording speed

As I have mentioned in another thread that MF4 can't burn more than 4X even though the DVD media is 8X & using a 16X burner. I did not use Video Studio since I took up MF3 onwards. Yesterday I decide to use Video Studio 8 to burn a DVD. After importing the video, add the music, create the chapters & proceed to burn at maximum speed. You know what - it burns at 8X after finishing the rendering. VS8 had been around for some time already but it can do something that MF4 can't. I wonder why?

Seems like you and I are the only ones that are having a problem, or have noticed...or care.
It is hard to understand how someone can invest many dollars writing a program, but then cannot tweak and fix it. Sounds like mis in my company.

I am not quite having the same problem as you. I have MF3.0. I have a Pioneer 107d 8x burner. When I use media up to 8x, it will be them at 8x. Trying media that is rted at 1-16x, the max I can get is 4x burn speed. All other burn programs go at *x on the 16x media. Any suggestions???
