Can anyone help??
I downloaded and installed PX2 today but when I try to click on AUTO MUSIC I get the message: "THE SMARTSOUND DATA BASE COULD NOT BE OPENED PROPERLY. QUICKTRACKS CANNOT CONTINUE AT THIS TIME AND WILL CLOSE".
I have installed all 3 supplied installations: MAIN PROGRAM; POWER PACK, and BONUS PACK (and the PATCH detailed on here).
With my previous version (11+) I gave up entirely trying to get Smartsounds/Quicktracks working as I kept getting the message "insert disc", and got utterly furstrated with it; but with this new install I thought - and HOPED -it might work. If anything, this new message is even worse as it seems I'm powerless to do anything.
Apart from that, ProX2 looks very impressive!!
Any ideas on how to resolve the problem? Be much appreciated.
Chris
UPDATE: Uncannily, upon installing it on my second PC - in exactly the same way - to test it, Smartsound seems to be working fine on that. I located the Smartsound Inc folder on that machine (running XP; the one causing the problem is running Vista) and copied them across, replacing the empty(Why?? When they had only just been installed??) folders in PROGRAM DATA with these, but still same problem. I'm stumped....
UPDATE 2: SORTED, by the looks of it. What a difference a simple typo can make - realised I'd added an extra letter (Inc became Inct) in the folder name. Corrected that and all files now seem to have loaded and be working as they should. (I don't seem able to actually add a piece of music to the timeline, but I'm sure that's a minor point that I'm overlooking - as I said, I haven't bothered with Smartsounds due to it never working for me). Will report back if any problems! Thanks anyway!
