How to create .m2ts output file?

Having created my video masterpiece in glorious hiigh definition I would like to be able to share it as a .m2ts file, but can't figure out how to do this. Specifically I want to transfer the edited video back onto my Sony HDR-SR10 camcorder so that I can then connect this to an HD TV and play it back. Presumably I will also need the .modd file that accompanies each .m2ts on the camcorder disc?
