Batch cropping can it be done?

Post by john510 »

I have about 500 photos I need to crop, all to the same size and area , is there a way to create something that will open all the photos crop them all to the same size then save them without having to keep clicking a crop button and save on each one?

thanks

Yes, you create a Task, and then use it to Batch Crop.

As you state the area you want to crop must be the same size in each photo. However you can crop photos with different outside dimensions, as long as the area to be saved is centered within the original.
Use Menu Item Align Center Both if the area to be cropped is the same item to be saved, but with a different outside border. Some other combination may be needed, or manually place the selected boundries aligned to the area to save before you crop.
This takes a little expermintation if you have different areas to save and the same outside area to work with.

Open a COPY of a Photo you want to Crop, create and begin recording a New Task, create the selected area to size, use the recommendations from above for alignment, outside everything will be cropped. Go to the Crop Menu Item and then select Crop. Save the Cropped Image, and stop recording the New Task. Call up Batch Task, select the New Task from the Task Dialog Box, make any other changes to the Dialog Box.

Caution, try a few copies before you start on the originals, you may want to adjust your New Task.

You have 500 I did 19,000 recently, if you get the Task right it works.
