Hi,
I found a lot information about inserting srt Files into DVD Projects, and about ripping DVDs to get a srt File, but verry litle about writing srt files.
I would like to create a blu ray with subtitles. The Video is selfmade so there are no finished subtitles. I cut the movie with AdobePremiere Elements (APE)and I.am still looking for a authoring software (APE is supposed to be able to do that, but with projects longer than 30 min it always crashes) Before using a HD camara I produced DVDs with Ulead Power Tools, but this does not supports HD so I was thinking about DVD MovieFactory. But this does not enables the editing of subtitles, it does supports including finished srt files. But how can I create these? I found
subtitleworkshop, but this does not accepts HD-Files (*.m2t)
Is there any other Program, or would I have to create a PAL-MPG or AVI to use subtitleworkshop?

I don't use subtitles (SRT) files, so it took a little researching to find something that may work for you..
Try having a look at Advanced Subtitler, from DVD-Logic.com.

Thanks,
after some thinking I realised, that the main problem is, to find the exact starting points for the subtitles in any srt-editor. Iit would be much easier to set the subtitles in Premiere, but since there is nothing to do so I try to misuse the Menu-markers. So I enter a marker where I want a subtitle to start, that's easy. Next I write a program which extracts these markers from the prel-File (Project File from Adobe Premiere) and makes a srt-file out of it. Then I can use any SRT-Editor to edit it and it should be possible to include it in the MovieFactory-Project. The advantage is, that it is much easier to find the starting point in Premiere than in a separate Program. The Prel-File is rather easy to read, but I still did'nt found a documentation of the srt format, but the examples I found are rather easy to understand. But if someone knows a documentation please tell me.
I also want to extract the markers to make it easier to find the Chapter-point for the DVD-MovieFactory Menus.
