I AM trying--turning gradients off

Post by pdxrjt »

I was reading about gradients..... so I did some experimentation with them. That was fun and I have a lot more to learn.... However, I was trying to add a border to a picture. I ended up trying to change the border colors (it was faster) using the paint can/color changer and that tool kept giving me a gradient... admittedly, the colors were changing when I picked colors, but it was still a gradient. How do you turn it off so you have solid colors? I did look in the help file.....but didn't really see how to turn gradients off in there.

TIA

In the materials palette, below the color squares (stroke or fill properties), there are 3 icons. The one on the left is used to change from Color, Gradient and Pattern. Hovering your mouse over it should reveal one, and my guess in your case it says Gradient. Just click on it and a small fly-out menu will appear having the other 2 choices. Just change it to Color...
