VS Pro X2 can't put two projects together

I captured my hour long DV into multiple video clips and decided to creat two projects: first half and second half. To my dismay, when I try to string the two halves together by opening Proj 1 first, then Proj 2 won't open with the error message to the effect that can't open Proj 2 due to "file format mismatch". I did not change any settings along the way.
Help.

Sorry, I am not sure I understand clearly. With Project 1 open in the timeline, what exactly did you do then? Did you right click in the timeline and select Insert Video and then select the .vsp file for Project 2, or did you do something else?

As Ken is suggesting you can not have 2 projects open at the same time. You can however have Project-1 open then using the insert video command, insert Project-2 as a video file.
