working mf4 with win 98 and win xp

Post by Ladislaus »

Working mf4 with win 98 seems different to working with win xp
Having saved a project I am finding it difficult to open it again to time line to create menus etc.Is there a tutorial which will help me.
Or could some one help me.
Problem
Working with win 98, if I open an already saved file by clicking 'add video files' a list of projects appear, then clicking on it and selecting the project goes on to the 'time line' but not in the case of win xp
Grateful for your help. Thanks

First I haven't used Win98 or DMF4 in a few years now. I'm also not sure of which version of DMF4 you're using, the plain or the Disc Creator? I don't have my version of DMF4 DC (disc creator) installed, however can open up a plain version that is installed with MSP8.

Next Win98 and WinXP are different, so where files are stored will probably be different.
...by clicking 'add video files' a list of projects appear...
That's 2 different things. If you click on add video files, you can only add video files, not project files. To add a Project File which would have the extention of DWZ, you need to select the Existing Project from the first screen when you open MF4. If all your video files are still in the same location as they were when you saved the project, MF4 should then populate the timeline with those files. If they have been moved, then MF4 will not know where they're located and therefore can not insert them into the timeline.
