Text/Title fade in/out

Post by adgelhar »

How can you adjust the timing of text fade in/out.

I would like to have , in this case the text/title fade in very slow (slower then the automatic default) but there does not seem to be a way of doing this.

I am using Ulead Videostudio 11+.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Alan

With the text box selected in the preview screen.
Click the two TT¡¦s adjacent to the Type box.
This gives you a manual approach.
Ok
Notice the blue bar below the preview screen, this shows the pause duration.
Adjust the black triangles, the trim bars to customise the timings.
Note these trim handles are multi purpose depending on the editing type you are applying.

fade in/out of text title

Post by adgelhar »

Thanks for the reply. I have tried all of that and still cannot get a title/text to appear very slowly.

I am using the open-curtain classic from Ulead, and want text/title to appear slowly as the curtain opens. And, vise-versa when the curtain closes to have the text/title disappear very slowly.

Not sure I have figured out how the pause affects this situation.

We haven't been above freezing weather in the last month. Hope you are warmer.

Thanks,

Alan

It also depends how long the title is. I believe the default title length is 2 or 3 seconds. If you want it to fade in for 5 seconds your title obviously has to be at least that long. You can change the duration by either entering a numerical value in the duration box or by adjusting the yellow trim handles in the timeline.

fade in/out of text/title

Post by adgelhar »

You guys are thed greatest,

However, By lengthing the duration for a slower fade in/out changes the test/title so it goes beyond the characterisitics of the video and audio. It lapses into the next scenes where I don't want it.

For example, I use Photodex Proshow Producer, and it gives you the capabaility of grabbing on the text line (in the timeline) and manually putting the fade in/out exactly where you want it by grabbing the handles that surround the text line (using the shift key) and indicating how long you want the fade in/out. So it does not affect the timeline, it adjusts the fade in/out within the parameters of the text itself. (Photodex Prowshow Producer - great software!)

Thanks for all you ideas.
