Best Software for DVD Menu Creation with VS12 ?

Post by shotokan101 »

HI,

I'm using VS12 to authour DVD's and I'm getting interested in being able to create my own custom DVD Menu Templates.

Suggestions/recommendations please for the "best" software to buy to allow me to do this ? Woulsd like an indication of the likely "Learning Curve" if possible.

Thanks,

Jim

If you want to truly create custom templates you can do them with PhotoImpact. There are tutorials on this forum explaining the process.

As far as VS is concerned, you do know that you can customize nearly everything associated with the menus that are provided?

Thanks Jeff - I know that you can customise nearly all the attributes of the element on the provided templates when you use them - but didn't think that you could modify the actual items or numbers of items etc. - e.g. increase/decrease the number of thumbnails etc. ?

They will decrease. If you use a template that has 4 thumbnails, but your video only has 3 titles, then the menu will only show your 3. But you cannot increase the number of available thumbnails. You would have to create your own for that.

Thanks again Jeff - that's pretty much as I thought :)
