Hi Group:
First time back in a couple years, I now am trying to use VS 12.0.99, Win XP dual proc 2 gig etc.
Files in wvm, recorded from facebook.
The audio is there (WMA 48 k 16 bit stereo) on the clip.
I cant get any audio out in the project. It's as if there was a MUTE switch that I cant find.
I have searched thru several pages and didnt find any clues.
These same clips, edit normally in VS 9
Guys, thanks for all the work

Welcome back Joe,
First your version number is a little strange. The full patched version of VS Pro X2 should be 12.0.98.1, some are 12.0.96.1, is your's a full ESD version, or an activated TBYB?
Next do you have Windows Media Encoder 9 installed? In order to have more WMV encoding options, you will need to download and install the
Windows Media 9 Encoder.
Did you split the audio from the main video? If so have you checked to see that the audio track is not muted? Click on the speaker icon located to the top left of the timeline, this opens the Audio View. Now check to see if the Rubber Band for the Volume is running down the center of the clip, which would indicate the volume to be at normal level. You should also see the Wave Form for the audio.
If possible right-click on the video clip, select properties and post them back here. If the audio is there, and can be heard in clip mode, you should be able to hear it in project mode too, unless there's something peculiar with the encoding used for the WMV file. There's plenty of variations...

Thanks everyone for the info. I have installed the various suggested pgms. I fully expected a problem in the video studio, as I could hear a key click as I went to project.
Obviously you gentlemen are much smarter than I am, thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
I tried editing some video I shot with my DV camera, and loaded into my comp by firwire. This WORKS normally. I'm now finding the problem only exists on some of my videos in my comp.
My version is 12.0.98.1, which I bought from the Cdn Corel site, I was upgrading from ver 9.?
I wanted to blame VS for my problem, rather than as you have suggested, the multiplicity of codecs around.
Have a great day from sunny cold Vancouver Island (just NW of Seattle)

Hi Group:
After saying things were recording normally. After a shutdown and reboot VS X2, again doesnt give audio in project mode. The same files which were playing audio in project mode now dont.
I couldnt remove, VS x2, Corel gave me a link to MS cleanout routine. I have now removed and installed it.
I'll keep you posted.
