I try adding it as banner text and "distribute to frames" and use the effect "still" leaving the "Enter scene" and "Exit scene" unchecked,
but still it just shows up in one frame.
What am I doing wrong? I know it must be a little thing
I have overlooked.
You know I know this program pretty well, but I can’t get the Banner Text to display across all Frames either, I am dumb-founded.
However, I have another method, somewhat tedious, but it will get you through your problems for the moment.
Select the last Frame in your Video. Go to the Command Menu named Frame and select Add Frame. On the Desktop, Right click on the New Frame, on the Menu Item dialog List select Object Properties. Under the Tab named General, change the Transparency setting from 0 to 99, and click OK to save changes to the frame.
On the Tool Panel, select the Icon named Text Tool. Type in the Banner Text you want to display in a Frame, make necessary size and color adjustments. On the Desktop right-click on the newly created Text, on the Menu Item Dialog List select Object Properties. Under the Tab named Position and Size make the necessary changes to position your text within the Frame; you can lock the location if you are to add more objects later.
Once you have accomplished the above, On the Command Menu named Edit, select Copy, or a shortcut is Ctrl +C. Highlight the first Frame in your video, and use keyboard combination Ctrl +V to paste the text into the first Frame. Cursor right to the next Frame, (don’t use the mouse, you will wear your fingers out), continue to do this until you have reached the Last Frame.
On further investigation I find the Command Menu Button Item named Distribute to Frames is grayed-out on GA. I assume from your thread you might have the same problem. Also, when I try to apply Still or static Text to a Frame and then try to distribute it through-out All of the Frames, GA only distributes text to the first two Frames and not the remaining. Therefore, there is a glitch, a malfunction in the Tool Bar Button. So trying to create Static Text using the Banner Text Feature simply does not work, even though other Banner elements will.
I continued to play with GA’s Text Feature and have come up with a faster method to add Static Text to all Frames in a Video. Here is how that works:
Selecting the First Frame of your Video, go to the Text Tool and create your Text, make any and all adjustments before you continue, click OK. You will now have Text in the first Frame only. With the First Frame of your Video Highlighted, go to the command Menu Item named Frame. On the Menu Item Dialog List select the item named Synchronize Objects Across Frames. In the Synchronize Objects Across Frames Properties Dialog Box select the following:
Select source image: 1:Frame
Objects to synchronize: Active objects(s) only
Apply the following attributes: select all of them if you won’t make additional changes
Apply to: All frames
select OK.
All of your Frames in your video will now contain a copy of the Static Text Object you previously created in Frame 1.
If you do not want the Text in all Frames you can select, highlight, the number of Frame you want the Text Object to appear in then use the Synchronize Objects Across Frames feature. In the Synchronize Objects Across Frames Properties Dialog Box change the following attributes:
Select source image: 1:Frame this feature must be reset when you highlight frames
Objects to synchronize: Active objects(s) only
Apply the following attributes: select all of them if you won’t make additional changes
Apply to: Selected Frames only
select OK
