I have just installed UVS9 and had to work through the Smartsound not loading problems.
Some times When loading a VSP the whole program disappears. Or it might have loaded but as soon as I move the mouse it all disappears. any Ideas

UVS abnormally terminates?
Stewart,
It would appear form the various posts, that you not alone, while the rest of us have no issues.
To assist, I would ask all users who are having this problem to please give us much more detail. What I would ask for is the following;
1) What OS are you using? XP ? etc.
2) What patch level?
3) Have you used Windows Update to apply all the latest Windows updates, security patchs, etc.? When was the last time you ran Windows Update, if at all?
4) Do you have a Intel CPU or other brand? What is your CPU?
5) Do you have any special hardware in your computer (ie beyond standard Video, and motherboad.
6) Do you have a standard IDE Hard Drive
7) What other software do you have running in the back ground like anti-spy ware or TV turner software, etc.
What have you managed to do in UVS before it abends? If anything, like load the project, capture DV, load/save a project, add sound.
9) What is the exact message that Windows gives when UVS9 abends?
If everyone who was having issues did this, someone might spot a common thread or issue.
Beyond that, sorry I have no useful suggestions, other than do a reinstall of you OS and just UVS9 and see if it still falls over. If it does not, one at a time, add each of your other applications/drives/windows updates, trying UVS9 each time, until you find the conflict. (I had to do this).

This problem does not happen every time I start vsp.
1. I am using XP Home edition

3. updated about a month ago but do not remember what updates
4.AMD Athlon XP 2600+CPU
5. Fly TV Platinum capture card
6. Standard IDE Hard Drives
7.Micsoft Antispyware, freedownload Manager, Nortons Security & antivirus, Schedule recording, Windows messenger, Sound manager,, Genius wireless control panel, Copernic desktop Search,
8. I had manage to load the program UVS9 that is all. when I try to load a VSP it gets part the way through the loading then the whole program disappearsjavascript:emoticon(':o')

By way of background, can I ask exactly how you 'load' your VSP file? Do you have VS9 open and then click on File > Open Project? Or do you go to the VSP file in Windows Explorer/My Computer and double click on it, and it starts the main program but fails to load? If the latter, then I recall people had a similar problem with VS 7 and 8, the only solution being to always open the project from within an already opened program.
