Does any VS version support Arabic language ?

Post by mercedes »

Hi, I am working on a project in which I have to add some arabic text, I have tried with VS 11.5 and VS pro x 2, but it doesn't work, it shows the arabic letters but it doesn't make words ie when you write in english it is from right to left and for the arabic it is from left to right so when i write in arabic it writes the letters in the wrong order, just wondering if there is any support for this language, can anyone help? please. Thank you.

What if you write it in, say Word, then paste it into VS?

Thank you Black Lab for your reply, I have tried to write it in word and copy and paste, but when you open the text option in VS i can't paste it!

Does any one know if there is a patch for the Arabic language? as I found in google but I can't be sure if they are genuine.

If you are trying to paste in VS using the mouse, that does not work. You have to use the general Windows *keyboard* shortcut Ctrl+V...

Pardon me if this is a silly suggestion, or if you've already tried it - but could you input your text in reverse?

Hi there, thanks for the suggestion, yes i tried that too but it writes the words as seperate letters not as a joint up word as it should be, which unlike English it will not work you will have to have them joint up to be read properly.

Thanks Ken, I tired that as well and it doesn't work either, again it converts the word into seperate letters and in the wrong order.

Do you have any programs on your pc that can properly produce Arabic text?

If you do, perhaps you might have to treat the text as a graphic, and export text from that program to a suitable graphics format. You should certainly be able to output a word-processed document to a pdf file, and may be able to do something with that to convert it to a format suitable for using as an image file in Video Studio.
