Alludo USER to USER Web Board

Have got a Disc from www.footagefirm, its royalty free and in DV AVI
format.Cant get it into VS11+.When I try to open it or import it I get
"incorrect function" or "not a valid DVD volume Ox800408fe(2302).

If you are using the Insert DVD/DVD-VR command, that only works with video DVDs (with the Video_TS structure and .vob files).

Have you tried simply copying individual DV files to your hard disc, or even using the Insert Video File command and navigating to the disc and selecting a file?

Otherwise, I would have to think the disc itself may have a fault on it, which would require you to go back to the vendor.

Thanks for the rapid reply Ken ( and many thanks for getting me out of trouble so often in 2008)It does seem to point to a corrupted or whatever disc because double clicking on the DVD drive comes up with "incorrect
function".Just thought they may be a magic way round it.In any case I will try again.If this disc is not in a valid DVD format, will I ever be able to open it anyway?

Try right-clicking on the disc/drive in windows explorer, and selecting Explore. This should open an explorer window, where you can browse through the files on the DVD, and copy them to your hard drive.

Just tried that Ron and it came up as" drive not accessable incorrect function"

In that case, back to the vendor!
