I don't know if I can help, but would like a little more info. What exactly do you mean by "minimizing" them? In X, I worked on an image and continued to see it after I resaved it. So, if you are staying within the same folder for preview, it probably has something to do with that... so what is minimizing? Do you mean keeping the image "live" but using the PC minimize box or resizing the canvas or ?
Does this happen when you reach nearly the limit of your video card or RAM? Any particular format of image that seems to cause this?
Again, not sure if I can help......

I could be wrong here pdxrjt but I think he means while having multiple images open, after working on one he hits the minimize button on the image window to send it to the bottom of the workspace.

I have personally never seen the area go grey and the images disappear so I too am not very helpful here. My only real suggestion is save and save often. It might have to do with a memory problem, say if you make too many edits on each image, and have too many images open, but that's just a very wild guess.

Miimised images
I have been using jpegs and saving them to my pics after editng each one, sometimes after only say 5 or 6 edits the workspace around the last image goes gray and then I loose the abillity to maximise any of the previous images. Then there is just an image of the last picture in the workspace .The illustration by Levifiction has the red boxes around what I am talking about. If by memory we are talking about RAM, I have 4GB

What we need to find are some clues to why this is occurring.
Two possible sources of information are the Windows Task Manager
(Ctrl=Alt-Del) and check the "Applications Tab" to ensure that the Status is shown as 'Running.' - You can also check the "Performance Tab" to see what the Processor usage is reading and the amount of RAM being used.
If one or both appear a bit high then check the "Processes" tab to ascertain what is causing it.
The other place to check is the Windows Error Log

I should probably point out that although you have a maximum of 4GB of RAM windows only allows so much RAM to be taken up by any one program.
Now that said I should point out that I don't know the limit. It's less than 4GB I know that much. But even so, even if it was 1GB I know you're not using up that much memory. So we can rule that out, unless PSPX itself is doing it because of the amount of memory. Hard to say at this point.
But without an actual error message it's hard to say what's really going on. It's all conjecture from here until more info can be collected.
I'm looking at your system specs but I don't see anything potentially wrong with your hardware or OS at the moment.

I'm not sure what PSP does with memory. I'm using XII and if I open other photos and then try to create a panorama, I get an "not enough memory" message even though there is only one canvas and say 3-4 photos open. When I reboot the system, open XII and start "fresh" it lets me create the panorama.... not a problem as I've only made about 3... but always leaves me curious about what is going on.

Think I have may have discovered the answer......
Just below the red cross at the top right that closes the programme there are 3 little black icons ,clicking the middle one that looks like a folder on top on of another brings back the lost minimised images to the worikng screen....................Ken
