Ok - so not the best descriptions i could think of for the effect im hoping to achieve.

What im after is...using VS10+...I have say for arguments sake..4 images on one screen - say, in equal squares....ok easy enough...all at the same time...Now, what im after is...say...one of those squared images 'zooming' / expanding up to fill the screen...or..say...one images 'retracting back' to a smaller part of the screen allowing me to add another image...

We've all seen it done a million times...mostly in those cheapo telly ads..for Mops etc..

Hope ive explained it alright....so, can this be achieved? Just at the moment all im getting is, say, one image..fading up on screen..followed by another images fading up next too it..would be a nice effect for me to have a images shrinking back to a smaller size etc

Ok wont go on...risk of complicating it.

Sadly VS does not have Moving Paths to the extent you can really control the motion. I think the effect you're looking for is a zooming in and zooming out.

The only way to get a similar effect is to use the Crop Filter. It gets you close but still not the real thing..

Like Ron said you need "Moving paths" which is a feature in the more upmarket software such as MediaStudio. Best thing you can do with VideoStudio is try and simulate a moving path:

As usual thanks once again for the input and advice. Much appreciated. Will view that moving path tutorial and fingers crossed will go some way to the effect im hoping to achieve..although as mentioned..perhaps time i moved on to Mediastudio.

... or perhaps not, since MSP has now been discontinued as a program by Corel...

He is still running XP and so can use MediaStudio which is still for sale on the Corel Web Site

Bear in mind though that it is no longer being developed by Corel and so there will be no further updates or service packs. Should you move on to a Vista Operating system then MediaStudio will not work (Other than by doing some work rounds we have developed but not as fully functional as on XP)

Having said that there still remains various options such as
Dual booting XP/Vista
also
Virtual PC / Virtual Box
