Sony Camera CCD-TR3200E PAL
Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 DVD Creator
Video Studio 6 SE
Using the belkiin adaptor to hook up the Sony camera we run into the following problem when trying to import video. The picture can be seen but is grainy and blocky, absolute rubbish compared to what you get when copying to a VHS video or viewing on the camera. Tried a variety of options, using the yellow composite lead and the S-Video connection. Tried different menu options all with no success. Anyone had any similar problem that they might be able to make some suggestions as to what I can try next.
Thank you.

Other than the above suggestion, what Capture settings are you using?
The "Capture Options" button in VS presents a number of settings that need to be set correctly to get the best quality. One of the more important ones is "Field Order" followed by maybe compression method used and maybe frame size, frame rate and colour space.
I have used a Sony analog camera and the Belkin device on a USB2 interface with Upper Field First, 25 fps, YUY2, 720x576 and Huffyuv compression to get pretty good results after capturing into AVI format, editing and then rendering to MPEG2/PAL/DVD.
