VSx2 violates one of my pet peeves.

How can I make it stop creating a folder in My Documents everytime I open the application?

I have told it to use other folders for working and temporary folders in preferences but it continues to create this clutter folder. These are MY documents damn it!!!!

This is so annoying and invasive. I thought Adobe was the only dumb *** programers left who like to write code with such alienating behavior.

As far as I can tell, there is no way to prevent VS from creating a folder in your My Documents. When you designate other drives/folders for it to use, it does not appear to use the folder it creates in your My Documents. However just no way to prevent it from creating it.

Adobe being the only..., not so much, I think most of these type of programs are written to do just the same. I guess it's just the nature of the beast. I don't know how many different NLE, DVD, image editing programs you may have installed, if quite a few, then it does get a little cluttered. I don't store "my important" documents under the Windows My Doc folder, I designate somewhere else (separate HDD) for those, just because of this, and in case of a crash to my main system...

I do it the other way.
Because it is standard practice of virtually all computer programs to utilise the "Documents and Settings" Tree - I have created my own folder for saving "Documents" such as Word, Excel, Access, PDF files etc.

Don't fight it - guide it.

So, it would seem that I'm not the only person who is annoyed by this little foible of VideoStudio. VideoStudio seems to deposit files in a fair number of places. I actually went as far as writing a little batch file to simplify clearing out some of the clutter, including emptying the cache.
