I am evaluating X2. I want to test a few things before I purchase it. The first thing is I want to render a video in X2 in M2TS format and use ImageMixer 3 (the software that came with my camcorder) to upload it back to the camcorder. When I tried using the "Create Video File" option in X2 and used the AVCHD template, the resulting file was not recognized in ImageMixer and couldn't be uploaded.
For those who own the HF10 or HF100, have you ever tried to put a video you created in X2 back on your camcorder? If you've gotten it to work, what settings did you use? Thanks!

No one has yet managed to resolve this issue. See this thread, which received its latest contribution earlier today: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?p=173271#173271 It also answers a question I raised there about whether the software which came with the camera might be able to carry out the action... Unfortunately, from what you say, it seems the answer is no.

Thanks! I did find that thread but figured it was more an issue with that particular camcorder. The Canon stores it's files as .m2ts in flash memory. As that is (I think) the output format of X2 I assumed it would work OK.
BTW, the part of the ImageMixer 3 program that moves video back to the camcorder does not transcode the video. It seems to just copy it. However, the issue is not that the camcorder can't play the file. IM3 didn't even try to copy it. The program would not recognize the X2 created file.

Try this thread. It looked like good info; I just have not tried it on Canon HF100. I'd appreciate any results using procedure near end of link's discussion.

Thank you for that link. It is very interesting and informative, and hopefully should solve this particular problem for others too.
I has also made me wonder if people have just been exporting the editing a renamed .mts file back to the card but not specifically to the STREAMS sub-folder of the BDMV folder on the card. If so, then the camera would not be able to see it...

I did try that, Ken. I recreated what I "thought" was the same structure on original flash card & put original files back in but the camera. They were not recognized and thumbnails did not come up. I'm guessing there is an index file created or "something". One would ask why you'd even want to do this but it would come in handy of you wanted to show video to a friend that only had an HD TV.
