update patches

Post by GeorgeW »

You asked if all my files are dvix , none of them are, they r all mpeg-2 files. I did begin with dvix because all the files together were 3gb, but when the file sizes were imported in dvdws they were bigger than the mpeg ones, so then i decided to go for the mpeg ones, I don't understand why the avi dvix ones where so big when imported. So i've used the mpeg-2 files. I've already checked the VIDEO and AUDIO tabs box to convert template.
1) I would install the update patches, because I recall one of them fixed a space-calc issue (it could have been with MovieFactory, I'm not 100%, but the DVD WS 2.x patches are recommended anyway). After you install the patches, check to see what happens...

2) if you didn't understand my explanation and example on why your divx files increased in size in the DWS project, then you should have asked for clarification. If you can understand how bitrates work, and compression for DVD, you will be better off for future projects

3) if you change your files to DivX to mpeg2, then you should at least let folks know that you have changed the parameters, as I was only "guessing" that you might have done that (or that you had some mpeg2 files), and it might make it easier for troubleshooting...

good news it works

Hi GeorgeW ,
it works the tdvd will fit on 4.6 disc thats what its required space is asking for and all the files r mpeg2 and i noticed that i forgot to apply convert template to all of the video files, as soon as i did that the gb started to drop lower. Its now at 4.6gb which my dvd won't read it says not enough space is on the disc, no worries i'll take it to my dvd shrink programme.

Thanks for all your help.
best wishes
K
