Pan And Zoom Question

Can you set the Pan and Zoom effects to be random? If you have a lot of photos do you have to take the time to set the pan and zoom on every one so they are not the identical effect? I know when using ProShow for slideshows you can set it to randomly pan and zoom on every slide.

Hmm maybe I'm not looking carefully but I did not notice anything about random pan and zoom effects while reading through those posts. Sorry, did I miss it? I wouldn't be surprised if I did!

But if you are using the Editor that is not available. It is only found in the Wizard. Using the Editor you must customize each one.

Ah..Thanks I was just wondering that. Seems strange that function is only available in the wizard. Oh well. Thanks!

Try this while in the editor and SmartZoom isn't available:

select (highlight the clips-from 1 to all); right click; in the drop down dialog box, click on the auto pan and zoom choice

This has worked for me with VSPx2 12.0.98.0

You are right clicking on the clips? What drop down dialog box?

I don't see any auto p & z feature anywhere.

What he's referring to is the Right-click menu. When right-click on images you get a menu that has Auto Pan/Zoom as an option...;)

Jeff - are you right clicking on the thumbnail picture part of the image clip in storyboard view? You get a different dialog box if you right click outside of the thumbnail. Sorry I don't seem to have been clear enough.

The dialog box has these choices:
COPY | DELETE | CUT CLIP (greyed) | CHANGE IMAGE DURATION ... |

| AUTO PAN & ZOOM | PROPERTIES ... (greyed) |

I have a screen shot showing the dialog box but don't have a way to show it here. Let me know if you can help with that.

You get the Auto Pan/Zoom in the Clip Menu too...;)

Okay, I'll admit it. I am a moron. I had video clips on the timeline and that's why I couldn't find it when I right clicked on them.

I nice feature, BTW.

Thanks Videoman for the clarity.

So the answer to the original question is: yes, VSPx2 can apply pan and zoom to multiple image clips in a random manner automatically. Just use the right click menu's Auto Pan and Zoom command.

It is a nice feature, especially when using the editor to produce slide shows from several hundred images.

Is this available in VS11.5? I can't find it so assume it is in the new version?

Your assumption is correct.
