Alludo USER to USER Web Board

Hello all, I have been having the hardest of time trying to set up my easycap (yeah...yeah) and through various hardships, I did manage to get drivers working, somewhat. I am currently on Vista x64 and the drivers I used are the following:

Using these was the only way I could get it to detect the correct drivers and actually install them.

Now then, when I attempt to use videostudio to record, I get no video. Many of the fixes i've seen for this is to change your input sources, however the box is grayed out and unable to be changed. When I head into capture properties -> video capture filler, I get the following error:

"Calling syntek mini-driver "get" error" or some such. I assume this is a result of installing the wrong drivers, but other vista users report that it works.

This probably isn't exactly videostudio related, but I have been scouring the internet to no avail. I would love to get this thing working.

You are close to admitting you have installed the incorrect drivers (if I read you correctly) yet you wonder why it isn;t working properly.

Vista 64 bit requires 64 bit drivers...check the manufacturers website for the latest drivers

That's the problem, those ARE the 64 bit drivers. They are the only drivers that easycap will actually find and install. At least, the only drivers I can find after trying various others.

Let us know how you go...it seems you are not the only one with this sort of problem with the easy cap 64bit drivers...

'Fraid those are some of the drivers I tried before. I have about five different sets of drivers, and the only ones that work are the ones in the first post. I tried uninstalling my drivers, reinstalling, attempting various different drivers and so forth.

So far the only thing I can come up with is that the syntek mini driver "get" error refers to the mini-driver files inside the x64 folder in the original .rar pack. The x84 parts do not matter and can be deleted with no change, but the x64 parts can not. I had thought maybe they weren't getting installed correctly (tried moving them to the main folder) but that didn't work.

To add a bit more info too, when I connect my 360 to easycap, I get no video using the yellow to yellow cable, but I get gray lines when I hook in the green cable. This still doesn't help much though as, said before, I am unable to change the input settings.

Hm. If easycap won't work, are there any ideas for good alternatives that work on vista x64?
