Just bought a new laptop (Sony VAIO) with Vista HP/64 bit preinstalled. As I shopped it was hard to find a windows machine for sale that didn't have Vista 64 bit installed.
Migrated my Photoimpact X3 to my new system and here is a list of the errors I'm getting so far:
- error on "save as" I get "disk full." Huh??? My disc is far from full. I click ok on the error and the object is saved but with ".$$$" as the file extension. If I change the file extension to the correct one (.jpg or.ufo) the file opens fine. Normal "save" works fine.
- smart remove is not available under the photo menu
- cool360 (which I notice is not the same as the older stand alone version of cool360) is also not available (shows in menu but dimmed).
- when I change my association and save choices under General Preferences the changes are not saved.... PI does not seem to want to remember these changes though it remembers others.
- used the lasso to cut someone out as an object and then put some other objects in the photo. When I tried to arrange the object I could not get the one I cut out to move to the front. At one point it wasn't even an option. On closing and reopening PI the option to move to the front is there but it does nothing!
- PIX3 does not remember recent files I've opened... have adjusted the settings under General Preferences to no avail.
- no thumbnail photo for .ufo files (I know this has been discussed else where on the forum but have seen no solution for Vista).
This is what I have for now. I sure hope Corel does something about this (sending this to Corel Tech support) since Vista 64bit seems to be the primary OS on new computers today.
Anyone else experiencing these issue?

I can provide answers to some of your questions...
In order for the Smart Remove to become active you need to have at least 2 images open, having the same aperture, shutter speeds and ISO values.
To activate the Cool 360 feature, again you must have at least 2 images open.
I can't replicate the Move to the front issue. Every time I make a selection using the Lasso or any other tool, and convert it to an object, I can manipulate the layer in which it is on, above or below. However you can not move it below the background layer.
Yes there is a problem with Vista and UFO thumbnails, and I don't know if it is more of a Vista or Corel thing...
PIx3 has no problem remembering my recent files.
All the above is on a Vista HP, machine...
