Items on 'switch' Menu

Post by DB83 »

I recently had to do a complete reinstall of OS and all programs.

When I reinstalled MSP7, DVDMF2 appeared on the 'switch' menu

Then I reinstalled DVDWS2 that replaced DVDMF2 on the 'switch' menu

Finally, I reinstalled MSP8. However, rather than DVDMF4 appearing on the 'switch' menu, DVDWS2 is still there.

Now IIRC, if I was ti reinstall DVDMF6 then that would replace DVDWS2 on the menu.

I would prefer to see DVDMF4 on the 'switch' menu for MSP8 as that is the application which belongs to this suite but even a uninstall/reinstall of that does not bring it back. Is there a ini setting or even a registry setting which controls this ? I'd be darned if I can find it.

Ferthermore, the install of MSP8 has over-written some of the settings for MSP7 (which actually is my preferd program). I just ran MSP7. Video Capture from the menu actually calls up the Version 8 program.

The instructions found in the following thread are the opposite of what you're wanting, but may help you figure out how to get it the way you would like...

Thanks for that.

I checked the registry in the quoted place and the correct path is actually there.

So seems that DVDWS is over-riding this somewhere :?:

With the various installations I have I have noticed that they all have differing items on the switch menu. My guess is they are added to the switch menu if they were installed on your computer before MediaStudio.
Any new programs installed after MediaStudio do not get added.

OK. I've found the little devil now.

It's a section in the ULEAD32.INI file in 'Documents and..../All Users/App... Data/Ulead Systems'

This is the line :-

Ulead DVD Workshop=C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD Workshop 2\DVDWS.exe|GODVDFRAME|6|0

Can anyone tell me what the items that I have highlighted in bold mean as these differ for each item ?
