dvd cannot be played in guest mode on win xp pro

Post by Ladislaus »

My win 98 was upgraded to win xp pro in Nov. 08
In admin-mode an option window appears when a DVD is fed in, with the following options:
1. Play DVD using Windows Media player
2. " " " Ulead DVD player.

If 2 above is checked and okayed the Ulead player window opens and the DVD could be played.

The Problem
]
The very same DVD cannot be played in guest-mode because the option window does not appear to select Ulead
Please help resolve this problem. Much appreciated. Thanks :?

The easiest method is to use the Microsoft Power Toy TweakUI.

Thanks sjj1805
Under auto play in Tweak U1, 'DRIVE', 'TYPE' or 'HANDLER' is not listed. When autoplay is clicked a different window to which you posted appears
asking to go to computer>select drive>properties > select particular drive type and letter> apply.- all of which I did.
Sorry to say the Ulead player screen appeared and then a black screen :?

Try giving the guest account temporary admin status and see if the auto play will work. If it does remove the admin status from the guest account and try again. Sometimes a program or function has to be run once in admin mode for it to work.

Sorry sjj1805, that method did not work either.
The same black screen appeared after the Ulead player screen as before
I went back to the permanent admin -mode and it works alright
