How do I merge the preview and source windows? My layout has them as separate windows. I realise that the layout manager has a few settings with the 2 windows merged and some settings with them separate. I have looked in the help, getting results with MSP8, this forum but no definitive answer.
Thanks
Darren

You need to use one of the "docking" layouts. Then in the Panel Manager clicking on the Preview and/or Source icons will close and open them.
If you're wanting to use just one or the other in your custom Layout, just click on the icon in the Panel Manager or use the Windows menu to select/deselect.

Thanks for the reply
So there is no way other than start from a pre-defined layout that has the merged source/preview window? That is OK if that is the way it is; just a bit strange in my opinion.
Funnily enough it was the "Standard (1024x768)" and "Standard (1280x1024)" that had the merged windows; the "Dock at Top" and "Dock at Bottom" had the separate windows.
Oh well, that's software for you.
Thanks
Darren

By default, they are merged. Separate ones are optional, requiring specific operator undocking. Once undocked, it requires reverting to default to re-merge them.

Thanks, although I am unclear how I "revert to default to re-merge them"? Does this mean picking a standard template, e.g. "Standard (1280x1024)" and laying out my windows as I want?
