Welcome to the forums,
PI X3 does have a problem opening EPS files. I tried several examples created in Corel Draw X4, however PI would not open them. However if I export an EPS file from PI X3, I can open it in Corel Draw...
It may depend on the program used to create the EPS file. There are 2 main types of "image" programs, Paint and Drawing.
Example of Paint programs would be Corel PhotoPaint, Windows Paintbrush, and PhotoShop. Some examples of Drawing programs would be Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator.
Which type of program created the EPS file you're having problems with?

If possible I would choose another format to save the files to, if you're needing to use them in PI. Try EMF, or WMF. I don't use EPS files, so really know very little about them, other than they're Encapsulated Postscript files. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will come along and provide an answer to this...
