The first few days VideoStudio Pro X2 was working great! Now all of a sudden when I start X2, I lose all sound. Even if I close X2, no other applications (Windows Media Player, Videolan, etc) will have sound and I have to restart the PC. This is with XP SP3. Any ideas?
Otherwise, this software is awesome, and I've tried 3 or 4 before discovering X2.

I've noticed the same thing, however I don't know what causes it. To correct it in WMP, click on the Playing Now menu and select More Options. Next select the Devices tab. You should see Speakers entry on the left. Highlight it, and press the Properties button.
Now in the top drop-down menu Audio Device to Use, it may be showing Default DirectSound Device. If so, change it to your audio device, which in my case is DirectSound: Realtek AC97 Audio.

Thanks for the post, vidoman. I tried it (mine was also set to "Default DirectSound Device", but changing it to my system's audio device didn't help.
I noticed that sometimes exiting out of X2 then using ctrl-alt-delte and stopping explorer.exe then restarting brings the sound back. But it is a real pain, so I am going to try reinstalling x2. I'll let you know if that helps.
