I have the Cannon HG 10 camcorder and it came with the Ulead DVD Movie FActory 5.0 launcher SE.
The files that I transfered off my camera onto my computer are MTS files. Everytime I try to add media into the dvd factory by clicking video disc < new project < (I chose dvd)< add media, it then says Ulead dvd movie factory has encountered a problem and needs to close. It goes on to say please tell micorsoft about this.....
I am wondering if this is aproblem with the software or my computer. I have searched on the website but can not find any information. I have emailed support over a week ago and have not heard anythign back. Has anyone else had this happen or have any knowledge of this software.
My ultimate goal is to just burn all my movies onto a dvd for backup incase my computer crahses. I am not concerend with editing right now but would like to do that eventually. As of right now I have not figured out how to convert my mts files to anything else to be able to burn.
Thank you
Please help with movie factory 5.0 SE
I've seen some other posts where people are having trouble with files from their HG10 cameras. I don't know if anyone has found the "real" solution, but I suggest you search the forum for "HG10" (and maybe "HG-10" & "HG-10" also).
And, you might try Canon support, since they may have supplied software that does not work properly with this particular camera. Maybe they have an update or a solution?
A quick search turned-up this:

Randy L wrote:...You NEED to use the included COREL Application Disc CD-ROM to download the 4 softwares (Corel GuideMenu, Intervideo WinDVD SE, and Ulead DVD Movie Factory SE, and DVD Movie Writer SE).
It is the GUIDEMENU software that will extract the video files, and save them in the ".M2TS" format (or file extension)...
