Trevors method works with XP.
For Vista it is slightly more complex.

1. Open Control Panel

2. Select "Classic View" and then "Folder Options"

3. Select the view tab and set the following as shown.

Missing Filters

I had this same issue recently with with VS12 on WIN XP Pro. All I could see under the Filters section was the word ALL with no filters to the right.
I tried the repair option from the install disk to no avail. I then simply did an un-install and re-install and all filters were returned. Trust me that's a lot quicker than messing around trying to find what files are missing/moved. IMHO
BTW been lurking here on the forum for some time now before finally signing up. Thanks for the great tutorials and other information. You blokes (and ladies) have made my home videos wanted items at Christmas time by other family members. Hope I can be of help to others as you have been to me.

Hi

If you are using Vista¡K¡K¡K.
Open a folder, click ¡¥Organise¡¦ at the top left.
Select ¡¥Layout¡¦
Select ¡¥Menu Bar¡¦
A bar should appear showing..File, Edit, View, Tools, Help.
Select the Tools option
Folder Options
View tab
Check 'Show hidden files and folders'.

PS you may need to be logged in as ¡¥Administrator¡¦ to change these options.
