I assume you are talking about Video Filters. What version are you using? I have not heard of this happening with X2.

See Lost Video Filters.

i got up to :

2. Copy the newly created VFilter.rsf in c:\Documents and Settings\working user\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\10.0\
to
c:\Documents and Settings\not working user\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\10.0\

but couldnt do it coz i cant find the Vfilder.rsf in doc/sets.
i even did a search for the file name on my whole comp

Vista is different from XP and the above link is for XP. Vista does not have a Documents and Settings folder. As far as I am aware, VFilter.rsf is located in C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Video Studio 12\Ulead.dat

Make sure you back things up, though, before making any changes. As Black Lab said, we haven't heard about this happening with VS12 before, and I am thus not sure if that fix will work with either VS12 or Vista.

Hi

On my pc using Vista I found the relevant file in :-

C:\user\user name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel Video Studio\12

I assume it to be in a similar location on your pc.
There is a similar file in C:\Program DO NOT GO THERE.

By backup we mean make a copy of the VFilter.rsf file

A little explanation:-
When using the earlier versions we could revert the library pages back to there default state. Removing a library file allowed VS to recreate the default library.
For instance VS_Video.Dat is the video library page.
VS 12 or X2 is new to us. I am not sure if the same approach will work, looking around it should.

I am sure you are willing to give it a go. The worst that can happen is that you corrupt the program and have to re-install.

First close Video Studio
Rename the file to VFilter copy .rsf file, this creates your backup, as simple as that.
Now restart Video Studio.
The VFilter.rsf file should be created as new.
Is your video filter library restored?

PS I have just tried the above to no ill effect.
Assuming all is well, you now have to find out why it happened in the first place.

Step 1. Close VideoStudio X2
Step 2. Using Windows Explorer rename
C:\user\user name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel Video Studio\12
to become
C:\user\user name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel Video Studio\12X
Step 3: Start VideoStudio X2
This creates a new folder
C:\user\user name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel Video Studio\12
Your video fileters should now be there with their default settings.
Step 4: Close VideoStudio
Step 5: Using Windows Explorer rename
C:\user\user name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel Video Studio\12
to become
C:\user\user name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel Video Studio\12Y
Step 6:
Using Windows Explorer rename
C:\user\user name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel Video Studio\12X
to become
C:\user\user name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel Video Studio\12
Step 7: Copy
C:\user\user name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel Video Studio\12Y\vfilter.rsf
to
C:\user\user name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel Video Studio\12
Replace = Yes.
Step 8: Restart VideoStudio X2.
Your video filters should be back as they were before you had a problem.
You can now delete the folder
C:\user\user name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel Video Studio\12Y

Hi ablinkvboxa

The AppData folder is hidden.

Do this:-
Open any folder.
Go to Tools-Folder Options- View tab
Check 'Show hidden files and folders'.

Your AppData folder should appear.
